Richard Montgomery High School Choral Department

About the program:

Drawing from a student body of more than 2,300 students, the Richard Montgomery choral program has four ensembles: Madrigals, Harmonia, Concert Treble, and Concert Tenor/Bass. These ensembles perform at numerous concerts, competitions, and community events, regularly receiving accolades and superior competition scores.

The Richard Montgomery choral program is under the direction of Ms. Sidney Clarke-Lequerique.

About Ms. Clarke

Ms. Clarke-Lequerique is the choral director at Richard Montgomery High School, where she teaches chorus and AP Music Theory sponsors the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and assists with the RMHS Marching Rockets Color Guard. Her choirs have received superior ratings and have been invited to perform at local events, professional sporting matches, and the White House.  Ms. Clarke has previously served the state of Maryland on the board of Maryland Music Educators Association.

Ms. Clarke received her bachelor’s degree in music education from the Florida State University with a concentration in secondary choral music education. She is a clinician for programs around the east coast. Outside of teaching she is an Assistant Music Director and alto with DC’s 18th Street Singers and a Director with Olney Community Youth Choirs.
